Our History
How it all started
Apollo Machine Tool Services, Inc. was started by Mr. James O’Gorman and his wife Mona. It was during the late 1980s when Jim had at that time worked in the machine tool repair industry for most of his adult life, but the industry was taking a down turn. Most companies were laying off their older employees and cutting high salary positions from their payroll. With Mona's encouragement, Jim ventured out and started working as an independent machine tool service engineer. Jim was well known by the many companies he had done work for through the years, and these companies supported the idea of Jim servicing their machines. As the years progressed, Apollo Machine Tool Services Inc. added many knowledgeable employees to their staff, who helped increase our company's presence in the DFW Area.
Apollo Machine Tool Services, Inc. came to be known as a fair and honest business and flourished through to and into the 21st Century. Jim and Mona encouraged their children, Glen O’Gorman and Tracy St. John to join and learn the business. Glen flourished and excelled in the engineering and servicing of machines while Tracy took over administrative functions. Together, they helped the company establish where it is today.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father James M. O’Gorman on June 13, 2019. Jim will be missed by all who knew him for his honesty and perseverance to get their machines up and running in a timely manner.
